Canopies

Retractable Canopy, Pergola Canopy & Under Pergola Canopy System

Canopies Kansas City

Ideal to cover verandas, terraces and roof gardens, retractable canopies can provide shade around your pool and provide the atmosphere you need for outdoor entertaining. These unique systems can be installed free standing or mounted to a home, pool house or other outdoor structure.

With the addition of rafters, you can turn your Betterliving Canopy into a pergola canopy. Both are versatile shading structures that retract manually or with motorized operation and feature a host of fabric choices that match your home decor to create a comfortable outdoor space!

If you already own a pergola, get more from it with a canopy system from Betterliving. Adding an under-pergola canopy greatly increases shade underneath the pergola. Add side curtains for your privacy, to block a light breeze, and to prevent the glare of a low sun.

All Betterliving Canopies feature:

  • Acrylic awning fabric, water resistant polyester, PVC-coated polyester or fiberglass mesh screen

  • Versatility - Mix or match top cover and side curtains

  • Manual operation with a wind-proof latch

  • Open sides or retractable side curtains with built in side tracks – motorized or manual

  • Residential and commercial applications

The perfect solution to shade the lounging area near your pool! Keep a healthy control on your tan. When the sun is too harsh for safe sunbathing, just close the canopy and enjoy cool shade!

A new sensation from Europe - and an improvement for open pergolas. Use for sun shelter; free standing or attached to adjacent structures. Ideal by the pool or for any outdoor patio or deck. Solar Shades

EXTERIOR SHADES

Solar Shades for Windows and Doors, Porches and Sunrooms

The most efficient way to block the heat of the sun is from the outside - before it has a chance to heat the glass windows and doors! Exterior solar shades can block the sun's heat while still providing visibility to the outside. Betterliving Solar Shades pay for themselves year after year by reducing energy costs and protecting your furnishings from harmful UV rays that may cause fading. They also add privacy to your outdoor living space.

Motorized options for joined solar shade units include common operators which control all joined shades with one push of a button, or separate operators to give you flexibility to adjust each shade independently.

  • Solar Shade SERIES I – The fabric travels down a track.

  • Solar Shade SERIES II – The fabric travels down a track with a zipper design to completely close off your porch or patio from insects.

  • Shades can be made with acrylic exterior awning fabric, PVC coated polyester or fiberglass screen. Polyester and fiberglass screen is available in 5% to 40% openness to control how much light you want to enter your home.

Drastically reduce energy costs by blocking the sun before it has a chance to heat up the window glass. Both of our Solar Shade Series I and Series II reduce solar heat gain and help to prevent costly window treatments and furnishings from fading.

Horizontal Shades

Horizontal Shades

Privacy shades & light wind screens for your deck, porch, patio, balcony or terrace

Horizontal Shade by Betterliving of Kansas City

Horizontal Shades are unique shading solutions that are pulled from the side to create retractable privacy and sun protection. They’re ideal for east or west facing exposures, where the morning or evening sun casts glare onto your outdoor living area. While most shade products protect from the overhead sun, these side shades block the harsh rays of the angled morning or evening sun. They'll also block a slight breeze. When combined with an awning or canopy, they can be used to create ultimate shade and privacy.

Horizontal shades are also a great solution for terraces and balconies with close neighbors. They can create a fabric wall when you both want to enjoy the outdoors. To create instant privacy and shade, simply pull the fabric from its side cassette and hook it onto either a wall or floor-mounted post. The fabric glides along a bottom caster for easy operation.

Betterliving’s Horizontal Shades feature:

  • A secure-lock braking systems for safe and convenient operation

  • Available heights from 46 to 96 inches and available projections up to 13 feet

  • A strong manufacturer’s warranty

  • Hundreds of color options between our acrylic and solar shade fabrics

Horizontal Shades add shade and privacy to any outdoor living space. Check out the pictures below to see how homeowners throughout the country added sun and wind protection to their decks and patios.
